New Alcohol Act

The government of the Balearic Islands has passed a new law on the sale of alcohol, which came into force on 01/23/2020. It aims to limit alcohol consumption in the Playa de Palma/Arenal region. All-inclusive hotels must limit servings to six alcoholic beverages per person per day (three during lunch and three during dinner).

From 01/01/2018, the following Sustainable Tourism Tax rates apply per person per day for all tourist stays in the Balearic Islands. The amount of the tax depends on the category (* = each plus 10% VAT), payable locally.

• Hotels in the category 5 stars plus, 5 stars and 4 stars plus / holiday apartments in the category 4 keys and 4 keys plus 01.11.-30.04. = 1 EUR/day*, 01.05.-31.10. = 4 EUR/day*
• Hotels in the category 4 stars (The ROBINSON CLUB CALA SERENA corresponds to the category 4 stars) and 3 stars plus / holiday apartments in the category 3 keys plus 01.11.-30.04. = 0.75 EUR/day*, 01.05.-31.10. = 3 EUR/day*

Exceptions:

• Children under the age of 16 are exempt from the tax
